Three years later, the rebirth of the building was celebrated by a giant mural of a Phoenix rising from the ashes painted on its southern wall. The six-alarm fire destroyed an apartment and displaced a thousand residents for months as the damage was repaired. In September 2010, flames tore through 200 Wellesley Street East in Toronto's St James Town neighbourhood.
